2012年3月20日上午，四川攀枝花市米易县，县领导率过百武警、防暴警察等，来到水塘村二社(也叫红旗村)，欲强征农地和抓捕维权农民。上千村民持农具抵抗，与武警爆发激烈冲突，双方各有多人受伤，警察不敌被迫撤退。

当局现正抽调攀枝花市区的武警到米易待命，随时准备强攻。
米易县政府欲低价征收红旗村土地，村民强烈反对，怀疑大部分的补偿金被官员贪污，多次向政府反映无效，一些维权村民更被抓去关在看守所。
日前，村民跪求镇长，一位老太被推倒受伤住进医院。政法委书记兼副县长李国宏警告村民，若不接受他们的条件，就要强行征地。村民表示，丧失耕地就无法生存，会誓死维权到底。
